End-of-summer Garden

When we moved into our house a couple years ago it already had a well-established perennial garden. Though we've moved things around a bit, we've preserved most of the flowers. About a week ago, the asters started to bloom. This year they seem especially lovely. Maybe they're thanking us for the mulching and watering all summer long? It's always a little sad when the asters appear since they also signal the end of summer. But they sure make the final weeks worth waiting for.

Great photo, B! How are your tomatoes doing?

Mine are about the same. I did have good luck with replanting a branch in a pot indoors and those all turned red immediately. I think it's warm enough inside, or something?
